A very warm welcome to Kismet Park Primary School. Our school is situated in the leafy green area of the Gum Tree Hills estate in an established part of Sunbury, and I am privileged to be serving this vibrant community.
We are proud of the strong reputation our school maintains within our local area. We are renowned for offering high quality programs within a warm and welcoming community. Our highly skilled staff provide a safe, secure and engaging learning environment. We are a school that supports collaboration with a focus on continuous improvement and places students at the centre of all that we do.
Learning and teaching at our school is grounded in research. Professional learning for staff is intentional, ongoing and reflective of the school’s strategic plan. Teachers work within the framework of a Professional Learning Community and refer to data to make decisions for the next level of learning. Strong literacy and numeracy practices, underpinned by structured Inquiry and access to technologies, ensure that learning for our students is engaging, relevant and significant.
In addition to this, we believe that high academic achievement holds equal weight to nurturing student wellbeing. We instil respect and an inclusive culture through supporting our students to adopt restorative practices to improve and repair relationships.
Our students are encouraged to accept challenges in their learning through a positive, caring and safe environment in which curiosity, problem solving and creativity are fostered. A comprehensive Performing Arts program nurtures student skills and interests in Dance, Drama and Music, while our Physical Education program encourages an active, healthy lifestyle. Our Japanese language program develops an understanding of how languages work while teaching students about other peoples and inspiring interest in and respect for other cultures.
